He represented the electorate of Drayton and Toowoomba from 1881 to 1893. == Life == Robert Aland was born on 24 December 1836 in London, England.〔 Aland migrated to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1853 when he was 16 years old. He worked himself up from a store clerk in Ipswich to successfully establishing an ironmongery business in Toowoomba and Warwick in 1876. His premises were in the northern site of Ruthven Street.
